2 Ladder Inspection Checklist
OSHA Reference: 29 CFR 1926.1053 (Construction) & 1910.23 (General Industry). Inspect before each shift & after any incident affecting safe use. Defective ladders must be tagged "DO NOT USE" and removed from service immediately [1926.1053(b)(16)].
2 Fall Protection Harness & PFAS Checklist
OSHA Reference: 29 CFR 1926.502(d)(21) & 1910.140(g). PFAS must be inspected prior to each use for wear, damage & deterioration. Equipment subjected to impact loading [1926.502(d)(20)] must be immediately removed from service. Annual competent-person inspection required.
2 Fire Extinguisher Inspection Checklist
OSHA Reference: 29 CFR 1910.157(e). Visually inspect portable extinguishers monthly; perform full maintenance check annually by a qualified person. Hydrostatic test per NFPA 10 (typically every 5 or 12 years depending on type).
2 Forklift / Powered Industrial Truck Checklist
OSHA Reference: 29 CFR 1910.178(q)(7). PITs must be examined before being placed in service at least daily, or after each shift if used round-the-clock. Any defects must be immediately reported & corrected. Truck not in safe operating condition must be removed from service [1910.178(q)(1)].
2 Excavation Equipment Checklist
OSHA Reference: 29 CFR 1926 Subpart P (Excavations) & 1926.602 (Material Handling Equipment). Daily inspection by a competent person required before start of shift, as needed during shift, and after any rainfall or hazard-increasing event [1926.651(k)(1)]. Equipment within 2 ft of trench edge requires barricades [1926.651(l)].
2 Extension Cord & GFCI Checklist
OSHA Reference: 29 CFR 1926.404(b)(1) โ€” GFCI protection or an Assured Equipment Grounding Conductor Program (AEGCP) required on all 120V single-phase 15/20A receptacles on construction sites. 1926.416 & 1910.334 โ€” visual inspection of cords before each use; defective cords removed from service. Only listed/approved cords (UL/ETL).
